Daedra Staten

Daedra Staten is the Founder and Chief Diversity Consultant at Staten Consulting Group (SCG Diversity Consulting). SCG provides clients with comprehensive diversity, anti-racism, and inclusion ("DAI") education, training, programming, and targeted structural interventions, as well as crisis consulting and mediation. SCG has provided services to clients for short-term, topical training needs as well as longer-term, multi-year engagements. Under Daedra’s leadership, SCG has delivered impactful, purpose-driven solutions and programming across a variety of topics, including identity history, race and anti-racism, allyship, intersectionality, LGBTQIA+ oppression and allyship, training the trainer, recruitment and retention, and microaggressions.

Prior to founding SCG, Daedra spent the better part of a decade at UCLA Law, her alma mater, as the Inaugural International Legal Education Public Service Fellow and then as the Assistant Director of Graduate Studies. In these roles, she traveled extensively to recruit a diverse class of international lawyers dedicated to continuing their legal education in the States. Daedra also worked to develop diversity and academic support programming within the law school during her time there. She graduated from UCLA Law in 2013 with a specialization in Critical Race Studies and a focus on International and Comparative Law. She earned a dual bachelor's degree from the University of Southern California in 2010 in International Relations Global Business (Marketing) and Philosophy (Ethics, Law & Value Theory). She is a member of the California State Bar.
