FAQs about community dinner & wellness
We serve a nightly meal 7 nights a week, all year long.
All are welcome! No requirements or documentation necessary to join us.

Our weeknight to-go dinner is served nightly, Monday – Friday: from 6pm to 7:30pm . Please arrive no later than 5:45 pm.
We encourage you to arrive between 5:45 pm – 6:00 pm to avoid standing in line and minimize your wait.
We offer meat-based and vegetarian meals, including salad, bread, fruit, and dessert, and water to drink.

Our weekend to-go dinner is served Saturday & Sunday nights from 6:15 pm – 7:30 pm. Please arrive no later than 7:00 pm.
We offer meat-based and vegetarian meals, including salad, bread, fruit, and dessert, and water to drink.

Clinic services:
UCLA Mobile Clinic, every Wednesday from 6:30 pm – 9:00 pm, provides basic medical evaluation and care.
UCLA Mobile Eye Clinic is the last Wednesday of every month from 6:00 pm – 8:30 pm for those in need of an eye exam & free eyeglasses.

FAQs about the community exchange

We are located in Glassell Park at 3056 Roswell St. Los Angeles, CA 90065.

There is 2 hour street parking on Roswell St. There is also parking on W Ave 32 and Fletcher Dr.

The Community Exchange supplies the Community Dinner with all of the ingredients used to cook the nightly meals.

We supply community organizations with the food that they need to feed their people.
If you are a community organization interested in receiving food, please fill out an initial inquiry form on our website.

Whether you are a food producer or individual interested in donating excess food, please visit our Donate Food page to learn more.

We partner with a network of over 600 food donors throughout LA County who donate excess food to us. We work with mom and pop bakeries, grocers, wholesalers, restaurants, caterers, and basically any other entity that produces food.

We distribute part of our food to our Community Dinner and Wellness program, and the rest to a network of over 200 small-sized organizations that run their own food distributions, meal programs, food pantries, and other food access initiatives.

No, we distribute food only to organizations. However, you are always invited to our Community Dinner for a free hot meal!
FAQs about DONATIONS

We’re grateful for your interest in donating clothing. However, we do not accept donations of used clothing. We encourage you to donate to Project Ropa, an LA-based nonprofit that specializes in getting quality clothing to those who need it most.
Project Ropa visits the HoFoCo Community Dinner service on a regular basis to distribute clothing to our dinner guests.

We accept unused blankets, tents, and sleeping bags. We also accept hygiene items.

We accept donations of shelf-stable essential items, such as oils, canned foods, power bars, and beverages.

We only accept food that is cooked in commercial kitchens. In certain circumstances, we may accept home-cooked food. But this must be arranged ahead of time. Please contact info@hofoco.org if you have a specific request.

All volunteer sign-ups are done via our POINT platform. You’ll need to make a POINT account to sign up.
To volunteer at our Community Dinner, you can sign up for Meal Prep or Meal Service shifts here. To volunteer at our Community Exchange, you can sign up for the Morning or Afternoon shift here.

No, Hollywood Food Coalition is neither a food pantry nor a food bank. We do not give groceries to individuals or families directly.
We distribute food to community-based organizations (CBOs) which then distribute food to their respective communities. However, anyone is always welcome to join our Community Dinner program for a meal.
